Location Airport Full/Part Time Full-Time Exempt from Classified Service No Minimum Rate 44902.77 Min Pay Frequency Yearly Maximum Rate 66772.68 Max Pay Frequency Yearly Regular/Temporary Regular Minimum Qualifications Eighth grade. Six months of experience in the use of pesticides or herbicides are required. Must possess a current State of Florida Restricted-Use Pesticide Applicator's license. Must obtain certifications in Aquatic and Right-of-Way categories within the probationary period. Recruitment Notes Employees in this classification are responsible for the spraying and removal of underwater weeds and related noxious water vegetation. Employees are required to operate boats, spray pumps and other equipment in controlling aquatic weeds. Work requires the mixing of chemicals to be used and placing of chemicals to obtain maximum weed control. Supervision is exercised over a helper who assists in the placing of chemicals in canals, ditches and other designated locations. Work is reviewed by a superior for achievement of desired results and completion of work assigned. Airport Security Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification, and other such procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by federal law is a continuing condition of employment.
