Job Description

Tanner Industries Inc (TII), a family owned business and distributer of Ammonia Products, has an immediate full time opening for an experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager. Operating out of our corporate office in Southampton PA, this position shall have direct oversite of our national fleet of power units, compressed gas and chemical trailers, totaling over 200 units. Job Summary Energize your career as a Fleet Maintenance Manager, where you'll lead the strategic oversight and operational excellence of our commercial fleet. In this dynamic role, you will coordinate maintenance schedules, ensure equipment availability, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and implement cost-effective fleet management practices. Your proactive leadership will drive efficiency, safety, and sustainability across all transportation assets, supporting our commitment to reliable service and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
1)
Vehicle Acquisition and Disposal :
Selecting new vehicles that meet business needs and financial goals. Manage the disposition of obsolete vehicles. 2)
Maintenance Management :
Scheduling regular maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime. Ensure equipment is compliant with all applicable regulations and company standards. 3)
Cost Management :
Monitor expenses related to fleet operations and maintenance with a focus on reducing costs while maintaining efficiency and company service levels. Review invoices for accuracy and approve for payment. 4)
Vendor Management :
Maintain existing vendor network and identify new vendors for use approval. Coordinate specialized repairs and parts procurement. Track vendor performance and compliance with TII policies. 5)
Record Keeping :
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs and inspections of equipment. 6)
Equipment Inspections :
Travel to TII locations and perform equipment inspections documenting current condition and identifying items of concern. Develop a proactive plan to address issues to minimize downtime and maintain regulatory compliance. 7)
Safety and Employee Support :
Provide guidance and assistance to drivers experiencing roadside emergencies or delivery issues. Participate in safety investigations involving fleet equipment Qualifications •
Experience:
Proven experience in fleet maintenance management or similar role with a strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and repair is essential. •
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with drivers, vendors and management.

Excellent organizational, leadership and problem solving skills required. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet established deadlines. •
Technical Knowledge :
Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA and other applicable industry regulations and safety protocols. Familiarity with latest trends and technologies in fleet maintenance.
