Forester-Timber Buyer Weekly Timber & Pulp, Inc. Wautoma, Wisconsin Job Type Permanent
Salary $65,000 - $80,000 per year
Benefits Pay negotiable based on experience/credentials. Health Insurance, PTO, 401(k)
Min. Experience 2 - 4 years Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Forester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing forest resources, ensuring sustainable practices, and overseeing the health of forest ecosystems. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics, materials management, and supply chain systems to effectively coordinate forestry operations and contribute to our organization's overall productivity. Responsibilities Manage and oversee forestry operations, including planning and executing timber harvests while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Conduct assessments of forest health, including tree growth, pest infestations, and disease management.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop sustainable forest management plans that balance ecological health with economic viability.
Coordinate logistics for the procurement of materials necessary for forestry operations.
Monitor inventory levels and manage contracts.
Analyze data related to supply chain management to optimize operational efficiency. Skills Degree in Forestry with a minimum of 3 years' experience, preferred.
Certified Plan Writer.
Strong knowledge of silviculture of Wisconsin trees.
Excellent organizational skills with a focus on production planning and procurement processes.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and communicate effectively with landowners.
Strong analytical skills to assess forest conditions and make informed decisions regarding resource management.
Familiarity with sustainable forestry practices and environmental regulations is highly desirable.
