Job Description

Job Summary Seeking an experienced Mechanized Logging Equipment Operator for Forestry Work. The position requires extensive experience operating logging equipment in remote forested regions of Southern Colorado. This energetic position involves hands-on work in forest management, ecological restoration, and land development projects year round. Responsibilities Operate Heavy Logging Equipment Safely (feller buncher, timber processor, skidder, masticator, log loader, dozer, wheel loaders, skid loaders, etc) Trouble shoot and maintain heavy equipment Operate power tools, hand tools, GPS devices, and heavy machinery safely and efficiently for tree removal and forest health. Use GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology for mapping, data collection, and project planning. Support heavy lifting activities and perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure operational readiness. Drive commercial vehicles as needed for project transportation Requirements Relocation to Pueblo, CO or Westcliffe, CO. Proven experience in heavy equipment operations. Knowledge of mechanical breakdowns and repairs to heavy equipment. Supervising experience is preferred to coordinate team efforts effectively. Knowledge of GIS technology, GPS navigation, and data collection methods related to land management. Familiarity with tree care and forestry practices including fire mitigation. Ability to operate power tools such as chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and other hand tools safely. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and strenuous outdoor work in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license with commercial driving certification is a plus. Strong understanding of timber logging and fire mitigation. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to supervise or collaborate effectively on diverse projects.

From $30.00 per hour
