Busy, well-established Nephrology practice We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and reliable Front Desk / Medical Assistant to join our growing nephrology team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys patient interaction and wants to make a meaningful difference in the care of patients with kidney disease. Position Overview You will support our nephrologists and clinical team by providing excellent patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The role involves a mix of clinical and administrative duties with primary time spent at our Humble office and two days per week at our Woodlands office . Key Responsibilities Room patients, obtain vital signs (including blood pressure, weight, and height), and update medical and medication histories in the EHR Assist providers during patient exams and procedures Perform basic laboratory tasks such as urinalysis (UA) processing, specimen collection, and preparation for send-out labs Prepare exam rooms, maintain cleanliness, and stock supplies Handle patient phone triage, medication refills, and prior authorizations Document accurately in the electronic health record Assist with front-office tasks as needed (check-in/out, scheduling, etc.) Provide excellent customer service and patient education Travel between our Humble and The Woodlands locations (mileage may be reimbursed) Requirements Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred; highly qualified non-certified candidates with strong experience will be considered Minimum 1 year of medical assisting experience (Nephrology, Internal Medicine, or Dialysis experience is a plus) Current CPR/BLS certification Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy environment Comfortable working with an Electronic Health Record system Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at both Houston Medical Center and Katy locations Professional appearance and a positive, team-oriented attitude What We Offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience Stable weekday schedule (no evenings or weekends) Supportive team environment focused on quality kidney care Opportunity to develop specialized skills in nephrology If you are a dedicated Medical Assistant who values compassionate care and wants to be part of a specialized nephrology practice, we encourage you to apply!
