Owens Deli is a family-owned and operated soul food and catering business. We are seeking a sharp, flexible, fast and detail-oriented Front End/Kitchen Assistant to help the main cook with the duties throughout the day. This is a hands-on, high-energy role in a fast-paced environment. Precision, creativity, organization and attention to detail are key! The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting with food preparation and serving food to customers and assisting in the front lobby by stocking supplies, taking orders, checking customers in and out on mobile ordering, busing tables and more! This position is perfect for individuals who are seeking a part-time job and can work well under pressure. 25-30 hours per week Starting wage is $10 per hour . Pay may be increased based on experience or performance. Duties Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as per the menu requirements. Restocks items that are low throughout the day Maintain a sanitation clean-up and smooth flow of the front dining area by sweeping/taking out trash (when needed), restocking drinks, plates, supplies when low Checking customers in and out and managing mobile ordering. Taking walk in orders and assisting walk in customers Answering phones and customers inquiries Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management when stock is low. May make grocery runs to stores for pickup order (when needed) Skills Experience in catering or restaurant environments is a plus, but not required Works with a sense of urgency Lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds Ability to work well and effectively in a busy kitchen setting Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Basic understanding of math Respectful, Friendly and Courteous with great customer service skills Interested ?
