Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with animal restraint and handling. Perform laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines to aid in accurate diagnosis. Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, laboratory results, and patient histories with precision and attention to detail. Manage kennel duties including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring animals' health status to ensure their comfort and safety. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology, assisting with pet grooming, and performing animal husbandry tasks. Handle pet care responsibilities such as administering medications, applying aseptic techniques during procedures, and caring for animals post-operation. Operate specialized equipment including animal catheterization tools, X-ray machines, and laboratory instruments while adhering to safety protocols. Skills Proven kennel experience combined with strong animal husbandry skills to ensure optimal pet care. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and critical care practices. Experience with dog handling techniques, dog training basics, pet grooming, and animal restraint methods. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in diagnostic testing. Ability to perform veterinary technician duties involving animal catheterization and aseptic techniques confidently. Understanding of equine experience is a plus for clinics that handle larger animals or farm calls.
