OPPORTUNITY
We are a paper manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our West Monroe, LA operation. We offer outstanding opportunities for our employees to advance their careers through on the job training and job progression.JOB SUMMARY
This position is an entry level operator and is responsible for assisting operators, making equipment adjustments, cleaning the equipment/ facility, and performing other designated tasks in a safe and efficient manner in accordance to the standard operating procedures (SOP).JOB FUNCTIONS
Job functions include, but are not limited to the following. Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and other associates. Operate mobile equipment in support of cleanup efforts in the various areas of the Mill. Appropriately handles issues with equipment or paper when situation arises. Maintains all documentation of daily and monthly rounds in accordance with the current standard operating procedures and documents contained in the employee training manual. Monitor and make adjustment to the equipment, including visual checks for crossed ropes, machine jams, and other equipment malfunctions. Assists crew during paper breaks in threading the paper and clean up debris per the standard operating procedure. Daily housekeeping duties as assigned. Operates Forklift to retrieve supplies and removes paper debris from floor. Retrieves and distributes supplies from Stores for crew. Monitor the quality of assembly output. Read and understand technical drawings, and technical service or repair manuals. Other duties as assigned.POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Commitment to safety and quality. Knowledge of basic manufacturing practices and strong problem solving skills. Good communication skills. Verbal communication is vital in performing his/her job functions safely. Basic mechanical ability to make adjustment to the equipment to maximize production and ensure quality standards are met or exceeded. Excellent attendance record with flexibility to work rotating shifts & overtime. The ability to work independently and in a team environment. Maintains cooperative working relationships, demonstrates a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow employees and supervision. Performs all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision.Desired Background:
2 years of heavy industrial machine operator, military, or mechanical experience. Ability to read and write is required. Computer literacy: MS Office, PLC and DCS experience.Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
