$17-$19/Hour An aerospace manufacturing company in Meriden, CT is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Laborer to support daily shop and warehouse operations. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and is willing to learn various production and facility support tasks. The position is temporary for 6-12 months with the possibility of becoming a permanent direct hire based on performance and business needs. Position Summary The General Laborer will assist multiple departments within the facility by performing general shop maintenance, production support, material handling, deburring, and other miscellaneous labor tasks. This role plays an important part in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Perform general shop cleanup including sweeping floors, removing debris, and maintaining organized work areas Assist with miscellaneous shop and facility tasks as assigned by supervisors Support basic assembly operations under supervision Perform deburring of machined parts using hand tools and approved methods Assist with material handling, inventory organization, and warehouse support activities Help with painting, coating preparation, and surface preparation tasks when required Maintain clean and safe work areas in compliance with company safety standards Support machine operators, technicians, and production personnel as needed Dispose of scrap materials and maintain waste collection areas Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and policies Perform other general labor duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial experience is a plus but not required Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to use basic hand tools Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude Ability to work independently and within a team environment Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment Work Environment Aerospace manufacturing facility Exposure to machining areas, warehouse spaces, and shop floor operations Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Benefits Opportunity for long-term employment and direct hire conversion Hands-on experience within the aerospace manufacturing industry Stable work environment with growth potential
