Orange Approved Supervisor Deepa Badrinarayana Supervisor Badrinarchapman Scheduling Please use dates within Chapman Academic Calendar (chapman/academics/academic-calendar.aspx ) Desired Start Date 06/01/2026 Projected End Date 08/03/2026 Average number of hours per week Up to 19 Hrs Position Summary Information Job Description Summary Provides research and support to law school faculty by conducting legal research, analyzing cases and statutes, drafting and editing legal documents, and assisting with scholarship course materials and ongoing academic projects. Responsibilities Assist law school faculty with research and scholarship through tasks such as: Conducting legal research using hard copy materials and various databases and resources, including WestLaw, LexisNexis, and academic journals. Assisting in the preparation of research memos, articles, and case studies. Summarizing and analyzing legal cases, statutes, and regulations. Collaborating with faculty on ongoing projects, providing insights and feedback as needed. Attending meetings and assist in the development of course materials or lectures. Staying updated on relevant legal developments and trends. Drafting, typing, and editing law-related documents. Required Qualifications Fully knowledgeable about the job; be able to handle responsibilities independently and effectively. Possess undergraduate degree in similar and/or related field. Desired Qualifications A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of legal research tools and databases. Previous experience in research, writing, or editing in a legal or academic setting. Familiarity with or interest in specific areas of law relevant to faculty member research focus.
