Position Overview Grinding Manager leads our grinding operations within a precision machining environment. This role is responsible for overseeing all grinding processes—including surface, cylindrical, centerless, and CNC grinding—to ensure the production of high-tolerance components that meet stringent quality standards. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Manage daily grinding operations across multiple machines and shifts Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and efficiency Oversee setup, operation, and troubleshooting of manual and CNC grinding equipment Coordinate with production planning to prioritize jobs and allocate resources effectively Technical Oversight Review engineering drawings and specifications to determine grinding requirements Optimize grinding parameters, wheel selection, and dressing techniques for performance and longevity Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes Maintain tight tolerances and surface finishes as required Team Management Supervise and mentor grinding technicians and operators Conduct training on equipment, safety, and best practices Foster a culture of servant leadership, accountability, precision, continuous learning, and teamwork within our core values Quality Assurance Ensure all parts meet dimensional and surface finish specifications Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming parts Maintain documentation for process control and traceability Participate in internal and external audits Process Improvement Identify and implement lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput Evaluate new grinding technologies and equipment for potential integration Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive improvements in efficiency ratio, cycle time, scrap rate, and uptimeRequirements:
Qualifications 5+ years of experience in grinding operations within a precision machining environment Strong understanding of grinding principles, materials, and tooling Experience with CNC grinding machines and programming (e.g., Cincinnati) Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T Proven leadership and team management skills Familiarity withISO 9001 & TS-16949
