Job Description

Role:
To manage all aspects of the grocery department within the store, working hard to make sure that the grocery department selection meets the needs of our customers, is profitable, interesting, current and that prices are fair and reasonable.
Job description:
  • Provides great customer service and is professional, friendly, courteous and understanding of our customer's needs.
  • Responsible for ordering, receiving, stocking, inventory control, and building displays in and keeping a clean and organized back room.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing regular and seasonal merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
  • Demonstrates a high-level of self-motivation; takes initiative; problem solves.
  • Have demonstrated character consistent with our core values: excellent care for customers, other employees and the community; friendly; and always seeking to provide high quality product and store experience.
  • Rotates and faces product. Cleans and dusts shelves. Processes and discards outdated and spoiled products. Prevents the sale of out of code product.
  • Responsible for new items and department resetting.
  • Multitasks between managing and cashiering when needed.
  • Keeps adequate records (Order logs, shrink sheets, etc.).
  • Follow and maintain the highest safety standards.
  • Maintain pricing (ads, TPRs, price changes, new items).
  • End of Day responsibilities (counting down tills, store walk to make sure store is secure, and getting staff out in a timely manner).
  • Communicating and working closely with all team members.
  • Assist with payroll when store manager is on vacation.
Requirements:
  • At least 4 years grocery experience (experience checking, stocking, merchandizing and taking inventory preferred; experience ordering, labor planning and budgeting a plus) and willingness to learn and meet the diverse and evolving job requirements
  • Lift, hold and carry 50 pounds on a routine basis.
  • Willing to work weekends, overtime and holidays when requested by management.
Pay:
$28.00
