Group Services Instructor (Fall- 30 Day) DCFCM • Diakon Youth Services Boiling Springs, PA Outdoor Therapy with "At Risk" Youth Per Diem, Varied, Mid September-Mid October
Hours/Pay Period:
0-29 Req # 10323 Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries is one of the premier employers in Pennsylvania and Maryland. We are a non-profit organization which includes Diakon Senior Living Services and Diakon Child, Family, and Community Ministries.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for facilitating or assisting in the facilitation of a variety of Wilderness group activities including Weekend trail based groups and leading 30-day Wilderness Treck programs. Provides leadership and supervision to all participating clients/groups involved in the Wilderness Program's group services. Provides technical and logistical support for designated activities, e.g. rock climbing, canoeing, high ropes, climbing tower and other initiatives. Ensures that course policies and procedures are understood and adhered to.
Education/Training:
A Bachelor's degree in Experiential Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Outdoor Education or related field of study normally required.
Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years' experience in related position normally required.
ADA:
Ability to walk, climb and otherwise maneuver in a rustic setting; ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills
Compensation and Benefits:
