GSRP Lead Teacher 420 Misty Ridge Drive, Middleville, MI 49333 $25 an hour - Full-time $25 an hour - Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated GSRP Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged children. As a GSRP teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting school readiness by implementing research-based curriculum, promoting social-emotional growth, and engaging families in their child's early learning journey. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong classroom management skills, a deep understanding of child development, and a collaborative spirit to work effectively with teaching partners, support staff, and families. Responsibilities Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with Creative Curriculum. Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that supports children's social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences to build strong relationships with families and support children's learning at home. Complete and maintain ASQ (Ages and Stages Questionnaires) screenings and assessments to monitor developmental milestones. Utilize GOLD® Teaching Strategies to observe, document, and assess children's progress across all learning domains. Prepare and submit ongoing assessment data to support child development planning and program compliance. Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings, professional development sessions, and GSRP team planning meetings. Collaborate closely with assistant teachers, support staff, and program administrators to ensure quality instruction and program alignment. Support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or behavioral plans as needed in collaboration with specialists. Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including attendance, progress notes, and assessment data. Communicate regularly with families through newsletters, phone calls, and in-person meetings to encourage family engagement. Follow all licensing and GSRP compliance guidelines and maintain documentation for program monitoring and evaluation. Experience Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching Knowledge of and experience with developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood education. Experience using Teaching Strategies GOLD® and ASQ® (Ages and Stages Questionnaires) preferred for developmental assessment and tracking. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, families, and team members. Ability to conduct home visits and parent conferences with sensitivity and professionalism. Current negative TB test within the last 12 months ( assistance available if needed ). Completion of LARA child care licensing fingerprint clearance ( assistance available if needed ). Current certification in CPR and First Aid ( assistance available if needed ). Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and participate in regular professional development and staff meetings.
