The Head of Cleaning is responsible for leading all housekeeping and laundry operations across the ranch resort, ensuring that guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation. This hands-on leadership role oversees a team of housekeepers and laundry attendants while driving operational efficiency, training, and quality control. The ideal candidate brings extensive resort housekeeping experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences in a tranquil ranch setting.Key Responsibilities:
Housekeeping Leadership & Operations Lead, schedule, and supervise the housekeeping and laundry teams to ensure timely and consistent service Develop, implement, and uphold cleaning standards, procedures, and quality control protocols across the resort Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure they meet brand standards Manage room turnover and prioritize assignments to align with check-in, check-out, and guest needs Address guest requests, concerns, and special needs in a timely and professional manner Laundry & Linen Operations Oversee all laundry operations, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distribution of linens and uniforms Maintain laundry equipment, ensuring proper operation, preventive maintenance, and safe usage by staff Manage par levels for linens, towels, and uniforms, and coordinate ordering and inventory replenishment Monitor chemical usage, water and energy consumption to ensure efficiency and safety in laundry operations Team Management & Development Train and develop housekeepers and laundry attendants Conduct ongoing training in cleaning techniques, safety, guest service, and brand standards Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work culture Budget, Inventory & Compliance Manage the housekeeping and laundry budget, including labor, supplies, chemicals, and linens Maintain accurate inventory of cleaning supplies, amenities, linens, and equipment Source vendors and negotiate supplier relationships to control costs while maintaining quality Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including OSHA and local health codes Promote sustainable practices in cleaning products, water use, and laundry operations Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with front office, maintenance, food and beverage, and spa teams to ensure seamless guest experiences Coordinate closely with the maintenance team on room readiness, deep cleans, and preventive upkeep Support special events, group bookings, and seasonal turnovers as needed Contribute to a collaborative, service-driven culture across the resortQualifications:
5+ years of housekeeping experience in a resort, hotel, or hospitality environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or executive housekeeping role Proven expertise in laundry operations, including equipment, chemicals, and linen management Strong operational background in managing housekeepers, laundry attendants, and supervisors Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills Working knowledge of sanitation, safety, and chemical handling standards Proficiency with property management systems (PMS) and housekeeping software Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasonsPreferred Attributes:
Experience in ranch, resort, or luxury hospitality settings Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred Detail-oriented, hands-on, and proactive approach to quality Strong communicator with the ability to coach and develop a diverse team Passion for hospitality, guest service, and creating welcoming environments Familiarity with sustainable and eco-friendly cleaning practicesWork Environment:
This role is based onsite at a ranch resort and involves work in guest rooms, public spaces, laundry facilities, and outdoor areas of the property. The position requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and the ability to move efficiently throughout the resort while maintaining a professional, guest-friendly presence.Additional Information:
