Job Description
Anesthesia Technician Valley Presbyterian Hospital Support Safe Surgical Care Behind the Scenes At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, every successful surgical procedure begins with a well-prepared operating room. We're seeking an experienced Anesthesia Technician to support our anesthesia providers and surgical teams by ensuring equipment, supplies, and monitoring systems are prepared, maintained, and ready for every case. What You'll Do Prepare anesthesia equipment, supplies, and medications for surgical procedures Assist anesthesia providers with intubations, invasive line placement, and emergency procedures Set up, test, and troubleshoot anesthesia monitors and equipment to ensure proper function Turn over operating rooms efficiently between cases while maintaining sterile technique Maintain anesthesia carts, remove expired supplies, and order replacement inventory Identify equipment issues and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime Follow AORN standards, infection prevention practices, and hospital safety policies Monitor operating room readiness, including environmental and equipment safety requirements Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and surgical staff to support efficient OR operations Participate in departmental projects and quality improvement initiatives What You'll Bring 2-5 years of recent operating room experience in an acute care hospital (within the last three years) Completion of an approved Anesthesia Technician or Surgical Technician training program Strong knowledge of anesthesia equipment, surgical workflows, and operating room procedures Understanding of AORN standards, infection prevention, and patient safety practices Ability to prioritize tasks and remain calm during emergency situations Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills Commitment to delivering exceptional service and supporting positive patient outcomes Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Current BLS certification Ability to obtain and maintain an LA County Fire Card within 30 days of hire Anesthesia Technician or Surgical Technician certification preferred Must maintain all required certifications, mandatory education, and occupational health requirements Why VPH Mission-driven healthcare organization dedicated to serving the San Fernando Valley Work alongside experienced surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative professionals Collaborative operating room environment focused on safety and excellence Opportunity to make a direct impact on surgical patient care and outcomes Professional growth within a respected acute care hospital Apply today and help deliver safe, efficient surgical care by supporting the team behind every successful procedure at VPH.
