Job Alerts Position Summary:
Assists the anesthesiologist/CRNA in preparation of anesthesia care delivery. Responsible for maintaining medical equipment, supplies, IV fluids and medications. Prepares and cleans all anesthesia sites for delivery of anesthesia to patients.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Adheres to policies of the Anesthesia Department of McLaren Flint. 2. Demonstrates organization ability by using time and equipment effectively. 3. Prepares and restocks medications as necessary for professional use. 4. Checks and cleans Anesthesia Machines and monitors before and after each use (room turnover) including but not limited to: a. disinfection of all monitor cables, machine surfaces and anesthesia cart surfaces. b. re-stocking of anesthesia cart supplies to maintain identified par level c. discard used/contaminated anesthesia circuit and replaces with clean circuit d. discard used/contaminated suction canister and tubing and replaces with clean canister, tubing and Yankaur suction tip. 5. Assists the Anesthesiologists and Anesthetists in preparing and starting cases including but not limited to obtaining emergency and routine drips from Pharmacy (for cardiac, emergency and routine cases) as necessary and obtaining special equipment and supplies (difficult airway carts, TEE probes, IV pumps, line carts, pediatric carts, specialty supplies, etc.). a.
For cardiac cases:
1. Obtains routine cardiac drips from OR satellite pharmacy. 2. Obtains IV pumps (from cart distribution or other hospital locations) 3. Obtains TEE probe and ensures connection to TEE machine 4. Ensures cardiac room stocked
Required:
Possess 3-6 months of job related training. Minimum, High School Graduate degree BLS Certified.
