- Anesthesiology at a well-established clinical setting in the region.
- Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia, including preparation of anesthesia equipment prior to patient arrival, placement of anesthesia monitors, and ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies.
- Continuously communicate with anesthesia providers to meet their needs throughout procedures.
- Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and placement of central line catheters.
- Operate the cell-saver machine, monitor lab reports, and participate in advanced surgical cases such as cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, and trauma surgeries.
- Ensure anesthesia equipment is in good working order, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot sophisticated devices.
- Serve as a key resource in maintaining specialized anesthesia equipment and supporting ectopic procedures for anesthesia care outside of the operating room.
- Assist in developing and implementing in-service training programs and training staff supporting anesthesia technology.
- Perform anesthesia equipment setup and troubleshooting, including testing infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, defibrillators, and calibrating anesthesia machines.
- Prepare operating rooms and carts for procedures, ensuring proper equipment setup and availability.
- Provide backup support to shift supervisors during their absence and perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Required Skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- At least two years of experience as an anesthesia technician or technologist.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot sophisticated anesthesia equipment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with anesthesia providers and surgical teams.
- Knowledge of anesthesia equipment setup, maintenance, and safety protocols. Additional Skills & Requirements
- A four-year college education including related technical training, or a two-year college education with technical training and two years of relevant experience.
- Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or other recognized certifying body is preferred.
- Flexibility to work Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with on-call, callback, holiday, and weekend responsibilities based on unit needs.
- Prior experience supporting advanced surgical cases, including cardiac, transplant, and thoracic surgeries, is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform setup and troubleshooting of complex anesthesia equipment, such as infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, and Fiberoptic bronchoscopes.
