An Art Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving art, crafts, and similar activities. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Job Description

The Youth Therapist contributes to AHF by having a therapy / counseling background and experience with crisis intervention. The Youth Therapist enhances the reputation of AHF by providing one-on-one counseling and crisis intervention with LGBTQ youth and their families. You will be a passionate advocate for our top initiatives. To be successful as the Position Title, it is crucial to ensure that the AHF Core Values and Mission stay top of mind with all that you do. At AHF, we are nimble and able to adapt in a dynamic environment to assist in providing the best experience for our clients and workplace for our employees. AHF has a collaborative organizational structure where staff are accountable to multiple leaders. The Youth Therapist will work as a part of a close-knit team to provide timely and thorough treatment planning and providing accurate updates on client progress through documentation of case notes.
Licenses and Certifications:
Masters degree in a counseling field, registered intern status minimum requirement, license preferred. Two years office experience and computer experience.
