Adult Group Therapist

Job Description

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis - every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely. About This Role At the core of Compass we believe in the power of community and connection, which is why we are committed to our group-based programming. As a group therapist, you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility, and consists not only of our widest variety of programs, but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.
What You'll Do:
Providing group therapy to patients in a safe and therapeutic milieu Developing effective therapeutic group relationships that promote positive change in patients Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as other evidenced-based therapies Relaying relevant clinical information to treatment team during daily rounds and as needed Developing program material and adjusting group therapy content, as needed, to fit group needs Engaging in crisis management, as needed Creating and updating treatment plans Charting in our electronic medical records system Participating in professional development activities This position may also include meeting with patients individually for case management Other duties, as assigned
Who You Are:
Are passionate about facilitating group therapy and seeking an environment to work collaboratively with others Are a Psychologist or Master's level therapist Hold the following licenses or education: LSW (or LSW eligible), LPC (or LPC eligible), LCSW, LCPC, PsyD, or PhD Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills Have prior experience working in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential setting (preferred, not required) We are committed to a fair and equitable work environment. The expected compensation range for this role is below. This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, your years of experience, type of experience, location, and education/certifications. Compass reserves the right to update these ranges. Based in Chicagoland, we serve hundreds of patients every day, ranging from ages 5 through adulthood, in our onsite facilities or through our flourishing virtual programming.
