Experiential Therapist Overview We are looking for an LMSW or LCSW to join our dynamic team as an Experiential Therapist, where you will play a vital role in delivering innovative, person-centered therapeutic experiences to diverse pediatric populations. Responsibilities Design and facilitate individualized therapy sessions utilizing music therapy, dance therapy, art therapy, yoga, equine therapy, and recreational activities tailored to clients' needs. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate therapeutic interventions and track progress through detailed medical documentation while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including occupational therapists, speech therapists, physical therapists, social workers, case managers, and caregivers to coordinate holistic care plans. Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis management strategies to ensure safety during behavioral episodes or emergencies. Engage clients in activities such as nature hike, swinging, horseback riding, or creative arts to foster emotional expression and physical activity. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient interactions using medical terminology and data collection methods for ongoing evaluation of therapeutic outcomes. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities—including developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and PTSD. Expertise in a variety of therapeutic modalities including music therapy, dance therapy, art therapy, recreational therapy, behavioral therapy, psychiatric patient care, and group therapy. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance standards for medical records management, and documentation practices. Exceptional communication skills for client engagement and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams; experience conducting intake assessments and evaluations. Ability to utilize de-escalation techniques effectively during behavioral crises; experience managing challenging behaviors with empathy and professionalism. Physical ability to consistently participate in activities such as hiking or dancing; experience working with children is highly valued. Certifications or training in crisis management, mental health counseling techniques or specialized therapies such as equine-assisted therapy or hippotherapy are a plus.
