Leads activities involving art, crafts, and similar activities. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Creative Arts Therapist (Per Diem) Metropolitan Jewish Health System United States, York, York Sep 02, 2026 Our groundbreaking hospice and palliative care programs offer a significant difference when dealing with a life-limiting condition. We offer a broad range of services in the community or facility-based to help patients and their families ease the burden of managing a life-limiting illness or end of life care. This position utilizes creative arts therapy interventions specific to the discipline of music therapy in providing the clinical assessment and treatment of physical, psychosocial, and spiritual end-of-life issues for patients, caregivers, and bereaved persons of all ages in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan-of-care; Participates in the clinical training and supervision of creative arts therapy interns; and supports special programming, research, education & marketing efforts to promote the organization's mission and growth. Effectively accepts, triages, and follows-up on all referrals for creative arts therapy services
Follows professional and regulatory visit procedures for home and facility-based health care,
including office-based counseling and groups
Provides a comprehensive clinical assessment at the initial visit, and updates accordingly
Executes a variety of appropriate creative arts therapy interventions to meet the client's needs
Provides clinical documentation according to agency guidelines and medical record standards
Promotes the mission and growth of the organization and the creative arts therapy program
Currently NY-State licensed or practicing under permit in the field of creative arts therapy, and nationally board certified in the field of music therapy through the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
Minimum of one year experience working as a creative arts therapist in either hospice, palliative care, or acute medical settings (academic internship placement hours may be considered as a portion of this experience).
