Job Description

Job Title:
Certified Athletic Trainer (Tactical Sports Medicine)
Location:
Moody Air Force Base, Georgia (93 AGOW, 820 BDG, 71 RQS, & 23 CES)

Contract Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Certified Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive sports medicine, injury evaluation, triage, and rehabilitation services for tactical athletes. Working under the direction of the 93 AGOW Physical Therapist and 23d Wing Surgeon, you will play a critical role in injury prevention and physical readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on- and off-site emergency evaluation, triage, and clinical treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. Perform risk-factor screenings, including posture, ergonomic, flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular assessments. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, corrective exercises, and soft tissue mobilization techniques. Apply preventative taping, bracing, and orthotic devices to protect operators during training and missions. Document all patient encounters accurately using mandated government healthcare systems (e.g., GENESIS). Educate patients on self-rehabilitative techniques, injury prevention strategies, and physical conditioning principles.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Degree:
Master's Degree in Athletic Training or a health science-related discipline from a college/university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
Certifications:
Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification as an Athletic Trainer, plus certification in at least one form of soft tissue mobilization (e.g., ART, Graston, ASTM, SASTM) or Dry Needling.
Licensure:
Maintain a full, valid, unrestricted, and current athletic training license in any U.S. State, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience evaluating and treating musculoskeletal injuries in a full-time capacity within a clinic or training room environment (with at least 1 year within the last 2 years).
Clearance:
Must be able to pass a Tier 1 (T1) background investigation.
Pay:
$67,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
