Responsibilities Conduct thorough evaluations of musculoskeletal injuries using advanced anatomy and physiology knowledge to determine appropriate treatment plans. Develop and implement injury prevention protocols tailored to specific sports and athlete needs, focusing on body mechanics and sports medicine principles. Provide immediate emergency care, including first aid and CPR, during practices and competitions to ensure athlete safety. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals such as physicians, physical therapists, and nutritionists to coordinate athlete care and recovery strategies. Design personalized rehabilitation programs utilizing sports rehabilitation therapy techniques to facilitate safe return-to-play timelines. Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) documenting injury assessments, treatments, progress notes, and athlete communication. Educate athletes on proper body mechanics, nutrition, hydration, and injury prevention strategies to promote long-term health and performance. Requirements Proven experience working with athletes or in sports medicine environments with a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and sports rehabilitation therapy. Certifications in first aid, basic life support (BLS), CPR, and emergency care are required; additional certifications in athletic training are highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to musculoskeletal injuries and treatment procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with athletes of diverse backgrounds as well as collaborate seamlessly with healthcare teams. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation purposes. Strong understanding of body mechanics, sports medicine principles, and injury prevention protocols.
