Full-time About Us Befitting You Medical Supply is a growing, patient-centered Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider specializing in orthotics, prosthetics, bracing solutions, and compression garments. Position Overview We are seeking a motivated, skilled Orthotic Fitter to join our Novi team. The Orthotic Fitter will work directly with patients and collaborating clinical teams to assess needs, take accurate measurements, fit prescribed devices and garments, and provide clear education on use and care. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys hands-on, patient-facing work and wants to build or deepen clinical experience in orthopedics, rehabilitation, DME, and compression therapy. The right candidate will be comfortable working independently while remaining closely connected with physicians, therapists, and other members of the care team. Key Responsibilities Perform patient assessments, measurements, and fittings for orthopedic braces and supports for the upper extremity, lower extremity, and spine, as appropriate. Measure, fit, and educate patients on prescribed lymphedema compression garments and related compression products. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and clinical staff to ensure prescribed orthotic devices and garments address patient needs and clinical indications. Educate patients and caregivers on proper use, care, wear schedules, donning and doffing, and follow-up needs for braces, supports, and lymphedema garments. Document patient encounters, measurements, fittings, product selection, and education in accordance with Medicare, Medicaid, private-insurance, and company requirements. Assist with inventory management, ordering, and organization of orthotic devices, compression garments, and related supplies. Provide professional, compassionate customer service and maintain a positive patient experience from fitting through follow-up. Maintain a clean, organized fitting environment and follow applicable privacy, safety, and compliance standards. Who Should Apply This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a hands-on healthcare environment and want to expand their clinical knowledge in orthotics, DME, rehabilitation, or compression therapy. Background Why It Is a Strong Fit Physical Therapy Technician or Assistant Direct patient-care experience and familiarity with orthopedic conditions, mobility, and rehabilitation. Athletic Trainer Strong foundation in musculoskeletal anatomy, bracing, injury management, and patient education. Sports Medicine or Rehabilitation Professional Practical knowledge of orthopedic devices, therapeutic support, and care-plan reinforcement. DME or Medical Supply Professional Existing familiarity with fittings, insurance documentation, and customer service in a medical setting. Lymphedema, Compression, or Wound-Care Experience Relevant experience measuring, fitting, and educating patients on compression garments and related products. Qualifications Prior experience in DME, orthopedics, physical therapy, athletic training, rehabilitation, lymphedema care, compression therapy, or a related healthcare setting is preferred. Strong communication skills and a compassionate, professional manner with patients, caregivers, and clinical staff. Ability to take accurate measurements and follow product-specific fitting and documentation processes. Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable completing timely and accurate documentation. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Ability to stand, move throughout the fitting area, and assist with routine patient-fitting activities during the workday.
