The successful candidate will provide comprehensive athletic training services, including injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for participating athletes. This role is vital in ensuring athlete safety, optimizing performance, and facilitating swift recovery from injuries. The ideal applicant will possess a strong foundation in sports medicine, physiology, and emergency care, with a passion for working with athletes across various sports disciplines. 9/17 3:30pm to 7:30pm Duties Provide immediate medical attention and emergency care to athletes during the event, including first aid and CPR as necessary. Conduct injury assessments utilizing knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to determine severity and appropriate course of action. Implement injury prevention protocols and educate athletes on proper body mechanics, nutrition, and conditioning techniques. Collaborate closely with team physicians, coaches, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EMR/EHR) documenting injuries, treatments, and progress notes. Assist in designing and executing sports rehabilitation therapy programs tailored to athlete needs. Monitor athlete condition throughout the event, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and providing ongoing support for athlete patient care. Communicate effectively with athletes regarding injury management, recovery processes, and health coaching strategies. Ensure all activities comply with confidentiality standards related to patient information and medical records. Requirements Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer from an accredited organization. Proven experience working with athletes in sports medicine or athletic training settings. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, and sports rehabilitation therapy techniques. Proficiency in medical terminology, first aid procedures, and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation purposes. Strong understanding of injury prevention protocols and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and communicate clearly with athletes. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards. Additional skills in health coaching, nutrition guidance, and implementing emergency care procedures are highly desirable.
