Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Certified Athletic Trainer to join our dynamic healthcare team on a PRN basis, with immediate availability. This role involves providing specialized athletic training services, injury prevention, and rehabilitation support to athletes and active individuals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in sports medicine, physiology, and emergency care, ensuring optimal athlete health and performance. This position offers an engaging opportunity to contribute to injury management and athlete wellness in a fast-paced environment. 9/17 3:30pm to 7:30pm Duties Assess and evaluate musculoskeletal injuries, providing immediate care and appropriate treatment plans for athletes. Develop and implement injury prevention protocols tailored to individual athlete needs. Deliver sports rehabilitation therapy to facilitate safe return-to-play timelines. Educate athletes on body mechanics, nutrition, and injury prevention strategies through personalized coaching. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals such as physicians, physical therapists, and coaches to coordinate comprehensive care. Maintain detailed documentation of patient interactions using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Provide emergency care including first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when necessary. Monitor athlete progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to optimize recovery outcomes. Ensure strict adherence to patient confidentiality standards in accordance with healthcare regulations. Promote athlete education on health topics such as physiology, anatomy, and sports medicine best practices. Skills Proficiency in health coaching techniques aimed at injury prevention and performance enhancement. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and sports medicine principles. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to athletic injuries and treatment. Certification in first aid, basic life support (BLS), and CPR is required. Experience in sports rehabilitation therapy and emergency care procedures. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems for accurate recordkeeping. Understanding of body mechanics and biomechanics for injury assessment. Excellent communication skills for engaging with athletes, clients, and team members. Ability to implement injury prevention protocols based on current best practices. Basic personal training skills to support athlete conditioning programs. Awareness of nutrition principles related to athletic performance and recovery.
