Job Description
We are hiring a DME Fitter/Athletic Trainer to join the team at our Dewitt Widewaters Location in Syracuse! The DME Fitter will provide specialized fitting of DME products and patient education regarding DME products as well as day-to-day management of the DME Fitting Room(s). Monday-Friday 8am-4:30 with adjustments +/- 30 minutes depending on office schedules.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible for proficient DME fitting of all products and education to patients, family members, and co-workers Responsible for following insurance regulations for DME fittings and assisting with compliance education within SOS Act as a liaison between the authorization, billing and DME department Responsible for auditing DME paperwork as needed Responsible for inventory management of assigned DME Fitting Room and office(s) Responsible for reconciling the inventory and to report any abnormalities to the DME Coordinator Maintain all documentation regarding DME with the assigned DME Fitting Room Assist in the continuing development of the DME guidelines for the clinical staff and providers Responsible for communicating physician, authorization and billing team needs to the DME Coordinator Assist patients with direction to resolve any issues with their DME process Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment Some travel between locations may be required depending on staffing and needs of the clinics Other duties as neededQualifications:
High school diploma required, college degree preferred. Athletic Training or Medical Assistant Certification required; Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of work. Effective and clear written, verbal and non-verbal communication. Pleasant and effective phone communication. Excellent computer skills. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office. Able to effectively educate patients, family members and co-workers. Knowledge of state-of-the-art bracing and DME products and procedures. Knowledge of compliance regulations set by state, federal and local law. Ability to lift and move 25 to 50 poundsCareer Insights for Athletic Trainer
