As a member of an interdisciplinary team, you'll help drive measurable outcomes, including a 23% increase in Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) pass rates, reduced musculoskeletal injuries, and improvements in behavioral health. Launched in 2018 and scaled across brigades beginning in 2020, H2F is already implemented in 45 active-duty brigades, with full expansion to 110 brigades expected by fiscal year 2027. Athletic Trainer - Responsibilities Work collaboratively with a diverse team including physical therapists, strength and conditioning coaches, dietitians, cognitive performance experts, and occupational therapists. Deliver prevention-focused care, acute injury management, and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries. Support performance optimization across the five H2F readiness domains: physical, mental, nutritional, sleep, and spiritual. Advise unit leaders on evidence-based strategies to reduce injuries, promote recovery, and enhance unit readiness. Use data and tools developed by the Center for Initial Military Training (CIMT) to track and improve performance outcomes. Contribute directly to soldier performance, ACFT pass rates, and force resilience. Athletic Trainer - Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Graduate of a CAATE-accredited athletic training program BOC certification required; NPI required Unrestricted AT license/registration/certification in any of the 49 regulated states, DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands (Texas licensure required as part of onboarding) Minimum two years of relevant AT experience within the last three years, ideally with active populations (military, high school, collegiate, professional sports, performing arts, occupational health) U.S. citizenship required Must pass background check, drug screen, and maintain current physical/immunizations Lead Athletic Trainer - Additional Responsibilities In addition to full performance as a Certified Athletic Trainer, the Lead AT is expected to: Serve as Brigade Lead Athletic Trainer and principal advisor to the Injury Control Director on acute care, injury control, reconditioning, and performance optimization. Coordinate with the Brigade H2F Strength and Conditioning team, Master Fitness Trainers, and Brigade Command Sergeant Major to support unit training programs in the physical domain. Ensure AT education, instruction, and guidance to Soldiers and leadership is synchronized with the Brigade training calendar. Develop and deliver an ATC overview brief for in-processing new Soldiers, coordinating completion across the full ATC team. Ensure safe, effective operation of equipment and tracking of supplies; report deficiencies to the Brigade Program Director. Complete Monthly Status Reports with recommendations, best practices, and lessons learned. Attend and participate in leadership meetings as requested, and review notes/information from any missed. Prepare and submit reports as requested by the Brigade Program Director and/or Injury Control Director/clinical supervisor. Ensure fellow ATCs complete documentation, Monthly Status Reports, and peer reviews on time. Participate in H2F Program reviews to identify best practices and recommend improvements. Serve as the Point of Contact for Cognito Systems, relaying information and coordinating with the Project Manager. Lead Athletic Trainer - Additional Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a CAATE-accredited program, plus a Master's degree in a related field (Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, etc.). Minimum five years of relevant AT experience (vs. two years for standard AT). Physical Demands On-site, hands-on role in a fast-paced environment; must be able to lift up to 45 lbs and spend extended time on feet, outdoors, while carrying supplies.
