Job Description

Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is pleased to offer a fourth-yearAudiology externship (AuD Extern) to one qualified candidate. CHLA offers awide range of audiological evaluation and hearing aid services for children ofvarying medical complexities. The AuD Extern will work with multiple pediatricaudiologists during their year rotation. Upon completion, our externs are well-prepared with a strong foundation of concepts and knowledge to provide thehighest quality auditory care to children from birth to 21 years old.​ Program benefits: ​ Paid salary​ Full benefits (health, dental and vision)​ Paid time off (vacation, sick, personal)​ One-on-one mentoring​
Details:
​ One-year externship beginning on or around June 1st​ Hands-on training in Audiological testing including:​ Behavioral audiological evaluations (VisualReinforcement Audiometry, Conditioned PlayAudiometry, and conventional audiometry)​ Immittance testing​ Otoacoustics emission testing​ Auditory brainstem response evaluations undernatural sleep and under sedation/general anesthesia​ Experience with CHLA's wide variety of hearing aidservices:​ Hearing aid evaluations​ Hearing aid fittings​ Verification measures​ Work closely with other disciplines within the hospital:​ Craniofacial team​ Hematology-Oncology​ Bone Marrow Transplant Unit​ Otolaryngology​ Eligibility Requirements ?
