Behavior Technician (RBT) Huntington Beach, Orange County area

October 1, 2026 Team Andy - Self-Determination Support is seeking dependable, compassionate, and experienced Behavior Technicians to join a person-centered support team for a young adult with autism who lives at home and participates in activities throughout the community. This is a home- and community-based position , not a clinic-based ABA position. Team members will provide direct behavioral and daily-living support while helping promote safety, communication, independence, community participation, and quality of life. Responsibilities Provide direct support in the home and community. Work as part of a 2:1 support team and, during some scheduled activities, a 3:1 team . Follow established behavior-support and safety plans. Support community outings, recreational activities, daily routines, and skill-building activities. Use positive behavioral strategies, clear expectations, visual supports, reinforcement, and structured transitions. Support functional communication, including AAC and other individualized communication methods. Assist with daily living skills and increasing independence when appropriate. Maintain close supervision and follow established safety procedures related to elopement and community safety. Work collaboratively with other team members, family, behavioral professionals, and supervisors. Complete required documentation and communicate relevant information to the support team. Maintain a calm, respectful, patient, and person-centered approach. Minimum Qualifications RBT certificate required. Current or previously held/expired RBT certification is acceptable. Bachelor's degree or higher required. Résumé demonstrating at least 6 months of relevant experience supporting individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, behavioral needs, ABA services, special education, or a related field. Comfortable working collaboratively in 2:1 and occasionally 3:1 staffing arrangements . Ability to follow behavior and safety protocols consistently. Strong communication, reliability, professionalism, and teamwork skills. Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Willingness to work in both home and community environments. Scheduling We are building a team with various shifts available across weekdays, evenings, and weekends , including regular/core positions and relief coverage.
