Job Description

Ellington Public Schools is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), This role involves implementing individualized behavioral interventions, collecting data, implementing IEP services and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Job Responsibilities:

Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Carry out strategies designed to address challenging behaviors and promote skill acquisition, under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Data Collection and Analysis:

Accurately record and monitor student behaviors and progress toward goals, providing essential information for ongoing assessment and plan adjustments.

Direct Instruction:

Deliver individualized or small-group instruction to students, focusing on skill development and behavioral goals as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Collaboration with

Educational Team:

Work closely with teachers, paraeducators, and other staff to integrate behavioral strategies into daily classroom activities and routines.

Qualifications

Certification:

Current RBT certification

Experience:

Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or other developmental disabilities

PMT Training:

Hold PMT certificate or be willing to be trained

Skills and Abilities

Behavioral Techniques:

Proficiency in applying Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to address a variety of behavioral and developmental challenges.

Adaptability:

Ability to adjust strategies and interventions based on individual student needs and changing classroom dynamics.

Communication:

Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and team members.

Professionalism:

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, adhering to ethical standards, and participating in ongoing professional development.

Working Conditions:

This is a 10-month position with benefits and follows the school calendar. Rate for the 2026-2027 school year is $25.22/hour, 33.75 hours per week.
