Head Boys Soccer Coach Position Summary:
Ellington High School is seeking a qualified and motivated Assistant Boys Soccer Coach to support the boys soccer program. The assistant coach will work under the direction of the head coach and athletic department to help provide a positive, competitive, and educational athletic experience for student-athletes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, knowledge of the game, a commitment to student-athlete development, and the ability to support the values and expectations of Ellington Public Schools and Ellington Athletics.
Responsibilities Include:
Assist the head coach with planning and conducting practices, games, and team activities Support the development of individual skills, team concepts, and overall soccer knowledge Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and a positive team culture Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team-related events Communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, families, officials, and athletic administration Support all CIAC, conference, district, and school policies and expectations Assist with equipment, attendance, eligibility, and other program needs as assigned by the head coach or athletic department Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes on and off the field
Qualifications:
Previous coaching and/or playing experience preferred Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, strategy, and player development Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and athletic department Strong interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes Must meet all district, CIAC, and State of Connecticut coaching certification requirements
