A GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the direction of a higher classified employee, coordinates and participates in the delivery of behavioral psychology services. Trains staff and serves as a technical advisior to agency staff in the application of behavior modification techniques. Conducts functional assessments/analysis and treatment planning.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Conducts functional assessments/analysis, including clinical observations, recommended behavioral interventions and plan for implementation. Devises charts and other instruments to be used by staff in gathering data on client behavior. Consults with staff regarding implementation of behavioral programs, reviewing staff documentation fo client functioning and revising programs as necessary. Trains staff, students and volunteers in the use of behavior modification techniques. Provide ongoing behavior monitoring, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed. Participate in Behavior Treatment Committee presenting cases, providing feedback and consultation. May serve on committees,task forces and other groups as assigned. Consults witih members of other agencies regarding behavior interventions for joint clients. Performs other duties as assigned. EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
M.A. or M.S. in psychology with a specialization in behavioral sciences or Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA). Coursework in behavioral assessment and behavioral change is required.
EXPERIENCE
One year experience as a behavior psychologist with emphasis on assessment of maladaptive behaviors and design of behavior change programs and /or token economy programs. Necessary Special Meet requirements for limited licensure as a psychologist in the State of Michigan or BCBA The qualifications listed above are guidelines. Other combinations of education and experience which could provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job should be considered.
