Job Description

Step into the role of a Behavior Intervention Specialist supporting students across two to three school sites within a collaborative and dynamic environment. Beginning with training week on August 25, 2026, and extending through June 10, 2027, youll work alongside another BIS and a Special Education Administrator, providing vital behavioral support and consultation for a diverse student population. Hours are typically 8:30am4:10pm, for a total of 37.5 hours weekly.
Key Qualifications:
Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential, Minnesota licensure as a Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4), or School Social Worker license Previous experience in special education settings or school-based behavioral support preferred Strong background in functional behavioral assessments, positive behavior intervention, and individualized plan development Comfortable consulting and collaborating with school teams, administrators, and staff Skilled in data collection, progress monitoring, and using data to drive decisions Proficient in crisis response, de-escalation, and behavior redirection strategies Knowledge of compliance requirements associated with state and federal guidelines for special education
Key Responsibilities:
Consult with school teams to design, implement, and monitor positive behavioral supports Conduct functional behavior assessments and use data-driven methods for supporting student progress Prepare and contribute to individualized education plans, ensuring regulatory compliance Model effective behavior intervention practices and provide staff training Maintain safe and supportive learning environments for students and staff Adapt interventions and remain calm and flexible in crisis situations Collaborate in site assignments and contribute to a positive, solution-focused climate This contract opportunity is ideal for proactive behavioral and special education professionals seeking meaningful impact and variety.
