Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply behavioral therapy techniques, assist with daily living activities, and help clients develop essential skills. As an RBT, you will work closely with behavior analysts, educators, and families to implement personalized care plans that foster growth, independence, and improved quality of life. Responsibilities Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles to promote positive behaviors and skill development. Collect and record accurate data on client progress, behaviors, and responses during therapy sessions to inform ongoing treatment strategies. Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and other self-care routines, fostering independence. Support teaching goals by reinforcing learned skills across various settings and providing consistent behavioral management. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to modify interventions as needed to ensure optimal outcomes for each individual. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and ensure all medical documentation and records are accurate and up-to-date. Foster a supportive environment that encourages client engagement, patience, and positive reinforcement during therapy sessions. Qualifications Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required; we provide comprehensive training for all new team members. Strong understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management techniques, and special education principles. Ability to work effectively with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities in various settings. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Comfortable collecting data meticulously and maintaining detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential to succeed in this rewarding role. Valid certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is highly desirable.
