Position Summary The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides high-quality, compassionate ABA therapy under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Rather than simply running programs, our RBTs teach functional life skills, coach caregivers through everyday routines, collect meaningful clinical data, and help children become successful where life actually happens. Services are provided primarily in natural environments—including homes, schools, community locations, and Hickory Learning Group's Community Clinical Hub—to maximize generalization and long-term independence. At Hickory Learning Group, success is measured by caregiver confidence, meaningful participation in everyday life, and the gradual reduction of therapy as families become more independent.

What You'll Do:

Deliver Meaningful ABA Therapy Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising BCBA. Teach communication, social, play, adaptive living, emotional regulation, safety, and independence skills. Support learners through natural routines instead of relying solely on tabletop instruction. Create fun, engaging, child-led learning opportunities using Natural Environment Teaching (NET) and evidence-based ABA strategies. Promote Independence Teach Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, hygiene, feeding, toileting, and daily routines. Encourage independence by fading prompts and reinforcing successful independent responding. Help learners participate successfully at home, school, and in the community. Support Families Model teaching strategies during everyday family routines. Celebrate caregiver successes while encouraging confidence and independence. Work alongside caregivers as partners in treatment, recognizing that they are the most important people in a child's life. Help create opportunities for families to practice skills between therapy sessions. Collect Meaningful Data Record accurate behavioral and skill acquisition data throughout each session. Observe patterns in learner performance and communicate clinical observations to the BCBA. Assist the BCBA in making data-based treatment decisions by documenting learner progress objectively and consistently. Collaborate With the Clinical Team Communicate regularly with supervising BCBAs regarding client progress and barriers. Participate in supervision, competency development, and ongoing professional training. Collaborate with caregivers, schools, and other providers to support consistency across environments. Maintain professionalism while representing Hickory Learning Group within the community. Maintain High Clinical Standards Complete accurate documentation in Hi Rasmus within required timelines. Protect client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Follow BACB Ethics Code and Hickory Learning Group clinical policies. Maintain RBT certification and required training. QualificationsRequired Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification or willingness to obtain certification. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to work independently in homes, schools, community settings, and clinic environments. Ability to lift, move, and actively engage with children throughout therapy sessions. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilities. Experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Experience in education, childcare, early intervention, behavioral health, or human services. Familiarity with data collection and electronic medical records.
