Behavior Technician

Key Behavior Services is seeking a qualified Behavior Technician to work with children on the autism spectrum in 1:1 sessions following ABA methods in the clients home. Full time opportunities are available for RBT credentialed candidates based on availability and location. Hours can be flexible, but are typically between 8:30am and 6:30pm, Monday-Friday. KBS provides ABA services in home settings, so some commuting within your Vegas region would be required (no more than 30 minutes away from your home location typically). This position would start off part time during training, but we do have opportunities for promotion to full time and salary positions based on client needs, certification requirements being met, and overall performance. Ideal candidates will have completed at least 48 semester hours at an accredited university. No experience with Applied Behavior Analysis is necessary but we prefer candidates who have some experience with individuals with special needs and who are willing to learn. We will provide training and work with candidates to gain the Registered Behavior Technician credential and free supervision for those needing to meet competency requirements for the RBT. Pay ranges from $19.00-25.00 depending on experience and education. Behavior Fellows are temporary positions, but promotion to Behavior Technicians are available to staff once they have attained the RBT credential and state licensure. KBS pays associated fees and supports all staff through this process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy plans developed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). Provide one-on-one behavior intervention sessions with clients, following established protocols. Collect and record data on client progress during therapy sessions. Collaborate with the treatment team, including BCBAs and other professionals, to review and adjust therapy plans as needed. Support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in acquiring and improving life skills and appropriate behaviors. Assist in the development and implementation of behavior intervention strategies. Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers to ensure consistency and generalization of skills across environments. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development. Adhere to ethical and professional standards in the field of behavior analysis.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment Must possess the ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection and guidance of potentially physically aggressive students during crisis situations. Must possess the ability to react quickly and be sufficiently mobile to redirect students that could be injurious to themselves or others, i.e. stop a child from running out of a building, physically redirect a child with severe behaviors, etc. Must be able to physically assist with evacuating students during emergency situations. Must earn and maintain full certification(s) in assigned crisis management programs.
