PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

: To provide psychological services to individuals who reside in IRAs, ICFs, Day Habilitation Centers, Family Care, and to provide supportive services to line staff and management in order to assist in teaching behavioral strategies and interventions to work effectively with the individuals served.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop behavior modification programs and provide ongoing monitoring and updating of individual behavior programs. Provide ongoing training to support staff on behavior intervention strategies and behavior programming Model effective behavioral strategies Participate in program planning meetings to discuss treatment plan goals, strategies and objectives, review assessments and behavioral observations. Administer assessments reflecting individual's capabilities in relation to being unsupervised at home, community integration and sexual consent Complete and present reports to team members reflecting individual's behavioral progress over the course of a specific time period. Provide therapeutic consultation to individuals and communicate behavioral progress to family members Collaborate with management, direct support staff & nursing Collaborate with day habilitation programs and staff as needed Prepare psychiatric/psychological consults on an as needed basis to report behavioral progress. Confer with psychiatric/psychology providers in order to coordinate effective behavioral and psychopharmacological therapy. Work with families to provide support as needed Provide support to families and staff in emergency circumstances and on-call as needed Participate in all treatment meetings, case reviews, and discharge planning meetings. Participate in Critical Behavior Review Meetings for assigned caseload and as requested for other program reviews. Present psychotropic medications, behavior support plans, and monitoring plans to Human Rights Committee Be an active member of the Human Rights Committee Attend all psychology team meetings. Maintain case notes and records in accordance with program requirements. Obtain and maintain SCIP-R certification; obtain and maintain SCIP-R Instructor certification. Perform all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university Minimum of one-year experience working with the developmentally disabled population Must possess well-developed communication skills. Knowledge of use of computer programs, such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Flexible with work hours. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with team members. Demonstrates reliability in relation to attendance. Maintains a high quality of work and productivity. #nassaucampaign
