We are seeking an upbeat and compassionate Behavior Therapist to provide behavior-analytic services to a verbal adult on the autism spectrum in Miami, FL . The primary focus of this case is supporting the client in developing and strengthening executive functioning, adaptive functioning, independence, and other identified treatment goals. The ideal therapist will be comfortable providing regular 1:1 services to an adult client and collaborating with family members, a BCBA, and other professionals involved in the client's care. The therapist will also be expected to work collaboratively with the BCBA to incorporate a behavior-analytic and mental health-informed approach into sessions to support the client's overall success. Schedule & Hours This is an in-home case with morning hours and up to 25 approved hours per week . With potential for additional hours in the evening. The expected schedule is approximately 7:00/8:00 AM-12:00 PM . The therapist must be willing to work some Saturdays when necessary, including participation in Saturday morning trainings. Monthly case roundtable meetings will take place at 6:30 PM . Please only apply if you are available for the required schedule and able to commit to the needs of this case. The adult client will participate in the interview process and will have the opportunity to ask questions of potential therapists. Requirements Compassion-focused and trauma-informed care is an important part of the services we provide. The ideal candidate must be able to provide services with compassion, patience, respect, and understanding and be willing to learn and apply trauma-informed approaches when working with the client. At least one year of experience working with adults, individuals on the Autism spectrum, or underserved populations is preferred. Candidates with a strong desire to work with these populations and a willingness to learn and complete additional training will also be considered. Experience working with adults and individuals on the Autism spectrum is highly preferred. Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish are preferred. Experience working with individuals who display hoarding behaviors is preferred; however, candidates who are willing to learn appropriate, trauma-informed strategies to support the client will also be considered. The therapist must be willing to learn about pervasive demand for autonomy and how it may impact the client's engagement, independence, and response to therapeutic demands. The therapist must be comfortable collaborating with the BCBA, family members, and other professionals involved in the client's care and must be open to learning and applying behavioral principles. A foundational understanding of behavior-analytic principles is preferred, including familiarity with the main functions of behavior, the ABCs of behavior (Antecedent, Behavior, and Consequence), and effective strategies for building rapport and establishing a positive therapeutic relationship with a client. Additional training may be required prior to or throughout employment to ensure you have the knowledge and tools needed to provide high-quality services. The ideal candidate will have an upbeat attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. An ABA background or a strong interest in pursuing growth within the field is preferred. An RBT credential and at least a bachelor's degree are highly desired. Responsibilities The Behavior Therapist will provide 1:1 behavior-analytic services in the client's home and/or community under the supervision and guidance of a BCBA. Responsibilities include collecting data accurately and in real time, implementing the behavior intervention plan and treatment plan with fidelity, and communicating with the BCBA regarding observations, progress, barriers, or other relevant changes related to treatment. The therapist will collaborate with the BCBA, family members, and other professionals involved in the client's care and may assist with developing and reviewing service plans, treatment plans, behavior intervention plans, and skill-based assessments as needed throughout treatment. The therapist may also assist with documentation and reports for schools, courts, or other community agencies when necessary. Attendance at required group meetings, trainings, and monthly case roundtables is expected. Pay Pay is based on experience, willingness to learn, and demonstrated fluency in the skills learned through training. Receive coaching and training before completing your competency assessment. The experience and training gained while working with us can help you feel more confident when you are ready to take your exam. A pay increase is available upon obtaining your RBT credential.
Performance-Based Pay:
Compensation is based on what you learn and how consistently and confidently you apply your skills, rather than solely on how long you have been with the company. Employees are evaluated every six months for opportunities for advancement and increased compensation. As you grow as a therapist, we hope you will grow with the company.
Career Advancement:
Supervision is provided for individuals pursuing the BCaBA or BCBA credential. You will gain hands-on experience and have opportunities to learn and develop the skills needed to advance within the field.
Collaboration:
You will have opportunities to participate in group meetings and trainings where team members can share ideas, discuss challenges, collaborate on client needs, and learn from one another. Education & Credentials A high school diploma is required. A bachelor's degree, or active enrollment in a bachelor's degree program, in psychology, early childhood development, applied behavior analysis, or a related field is highly desired. An RBT or BCaBA certification through the BACB and in good standing is preferred. Work Setting This is an in-person, in-home position. Remote work is not available.
