Position Summary The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT works directly with clients to teach communication, social, play, adaptive, and behavioral skills while creating a fun, engaging, and encouraging learning environment. This position offers flexible scheduling with approximately 10-20 hours per week, making it ideal for students, educators, or individuals seeking meaningful part-time work. Duties Provide individualized ABA therapy sessions in the clinic, home, school, or community settings. Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising BCBA. Teach communication, social, emotional regulation, play, self-help, and daily living skills. Collect accurate data on client progress during each session. Build positive, trusting relationships with children and their families. Use positive reinforcement and evidence-based teaching strategies to encourage learning and independence. Assist children in developing flexibility, coping skills, and problem-solving abilities. Collaborate with the BCBA to discuss client progress and treatment recommendations. Maintain timely session notes and required documentation. Participate in supervision, ongoing training, and professional development opportunities. Uphold client confidentiality and follow ethical standards established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain certification (training and supervision may be provided). Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities, especially those on the autism spectrum or with neurodevelopmental disorders preferred but not required. Ability to actively engage with children during therapy sessions, including sitting, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and playing on the floor for extended periods. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic attitude. Ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to service locations if needed. Ability to pass required background checks.
