Job Description
Job Overview This position is temporary (Summer, 4 weeks), with opportunity for growth. This is located in a Summer Camp setting. Join our dynamic team as a Behavior Technician and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and individuals with developmental disabilities. In this vital role, you will implement evidence-based behavioral interventions, primarily using applied behavior analysis (ABA), to support clients in developing essential skills and reducing challenging behaviors. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team to promote independence and improve quality of life. Responsibilities Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) under supervision. Collect accurate data on client behaviors, skill acquisition, and progress to inform ongoing treatment strategies. Support clients during therapy sessions, activities, and daily routines to promote learning and positive behavior change. Assist in conducting behavioral assessments and participate in intake evaluations to determine client needs. Maintain detailed medical documentation, records, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with supervisors, teachers, and families to ensure consistency across environments and reinforce therapeutic goals. Support patient care by providing compassionate assistance during diagnostic evaluations or behavioral health assessments. Qualifications Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred. Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), is essential. Familiarity with data collection methods and medical terminology related to patient assessment and records management. Ability to work effectively with people with autism or other disabilities in various settings such as special education or behavioral health programs. Strong communication skills for documenting medical records accurately and participating in intake or diagnostic evaluations. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information. A compassionate attitude combined with patience, flexibility, and a commitment to patient care.
