PM Position Overview:

The Classroom RBT supports the Lead Classroom Teacher and BCBA in implementing ABA therapy and classroom programming. This role provides both 1:1 therapy and small group support, helps with daily routines such as nap/rest time, and ensures smooth classroom operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group ABA therapy under BCBA supervision. Support multiple children during group sessions, ensuring engagement and behavior support. Assist with classroom routines including transitions, meal times, and nap/rest time. Collect accurate data on student goals and therapy sessions. Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to implement lesson plans and STAR programming activities. Help maintain classroom organization, materials, and a safe environment. Communicate progress and needs to the Lead Teacher and BCBA. Submit contact notes for billing in a timely manner

Classroom Structure & Visual Supports:

Maintain daily routines and structured teaching environments in alignment with the TEACCH framework. Set up and manage visual schedules, task systems, and other supports to reduce anxiety, increase engagement, and promote independence. Ensure classrooms are predictable, organized, and conducive to learning.

Behavior Support & Social-Emotional Development:

Implement individualized visual behavior systems (token boards, emotion thermometers, reinforcement systems) with fidelity. Apply reinforcement-based strategies, using tangible, social, and activity-based motivators to encourage desired behaviors. Teach and model replacement behaviors and emotional regulation strategies (requesting help, calming techniques, functional communication). Use gentle redirection, positive language, and proactive strategies to guide students back to learning without escalation.

Progress Monitoring & Collaboration:

Collect and maintain accurate data on student performance and behavior to support progress monitoring. Collaborate with BCBAs, teachers, therapists, and other classroom staff to ensure consistent implementation of individualized plans.

Qualifications:

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required. Experience working in classroom or group ABA settings. Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Physical & Work Requirements:

Ability to engage in physical activity with children (e.g., sitting on the floor, transitioning between areas, participating in play-based learning). Ability to implement crisis management and de-escalation strategies as trained. Must pass required background checks and complete Safety-Care and ABA-based training as provided by ACT.
