1722 West 6th Street, Racine, WI - Sonnenberg School Sonnenberg Consultants is hiring Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians to join our ABA team at our school-based ABA program in Racine, WI. This is a full-time, school-based ABA position with a fixed Monday-Friday schedule, paid training, and no nights or weekends. You'll work directly with students in a structured school environment, supporting individualized goals related to communication, independence, learning, social development, and behavior. Our school-based programs provide students with opportunities to practice important skills throughout the school day while working alongside a collaborative team of BCBAs, teachers, and other support staff. No prior ABA experience is required for entry-level candidates. We provide paid training, ongoing support, and supervision from experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). At a glance Part-time and Full-time, in-person positions available Fixed Monday-Friday schedule School-day hours No nights, or weekends School-based ABA setting Paid training provided Ongoing supervision and support from BCBAs Structured routines with opportunities for variety throughout the school day Opportunities for professional growth and advancement What this role is really like As a Behavior Technician, you'll provide hands-on, individualized behavioral and safety support to students in a school setting, including students whose behavioral needs may create significant barriers to safe and meaningful classroom participation. You'll work alongside the clinical team to help reduce interfering and dangerous behaviors, build functional communication and coping skills, increase tolerance and flexibility, and help students safely access instruction and participate in their school environment. The ability to remain calm, focused, and responsive during challenging situations is essential, as you may need to quickly recognize changes in behavior, implement de-escalation strategies, adjust your approach, and prioritize safety based on what is happening in the moment. You may support students who engage in behaviors such as aggression, elopement, property destruction, refusal, or other behaviors that interfere with learning and require individualized behavioral intervention and safety strategies. You'll collaborate closely with BCBAs, teachers, and other team members to implement behavior plans consistently, respond to unexpected situations, and help create conditions where instruction can occur safely and successfully. This role requires someone who can think on their feet, manage their own reactions under pressure, accept coaching, and confidently pivot when a student's needs change. Every day can look different, and success means helping students move through barriers, build resilience and functional skills, and make meaningful progress toward greater safety, independence, and participation in their school environment. What you'll do Implement individualized ABA programs with guidance and supervision from BCBAs Support students during classroom activities, transitions, routines, and other school-based activities Use structured activities and evidence-based strategies to support skill development Support independence and participation in classroom and community routines Follow individualized behavior support plans and respond to challenging behavior according to training and established procedures Collect and document information about learner activities and progress using provided technology Communicate observations and questions to supervisors and members of the student's team Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional environment for students and coworkers Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and feedback What we're looking for Required qualifications: High school diploma or GED At least 18 years old Reliable transportation Ability to be active throughout the school day, including floor-based activities Ability to lift up to approximately 20 lbs. Ability to pass required background checks Helpful, but not required: Experience working with children or individuals with developmental differences Experience in education, caregiving, behavioral health, or human services Coursework or education in psychology, education, behavior analysis, or a related field Previous ABA or Behavior Technician experience Why join Sonnenberg?
