Full Job Description Job Objective:
As a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET), you will play a critical role in supporting patient care by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on medical equipment as assigned by your manager. You will use specialized tools and test equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturers' specifications and healthcare regulatory standards. Your primary responsibilities include managing and tracking medical equipment inventory, assembly, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of medical devices.Duties and Responsibilities :
1. Perform planned maintenance, safety testing, calibration, and repairs on assigned medical equipment throughout the main hospital, Women and Infant Pavilion (WIP), and AVMC's outpatient clinics. 2. Strategically prioritize work orders with minimal supervision to complete PMs and repairs. 3. Accurately complete all necessary documentation related to workorders and your assigned tasks. 4. Maintain clear and professional communication with department staff, vendors, and other BMETs to facilitate timely maintenance and repair of medical equipment.Non-Essential Duties:
None Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge Current knowledge of practices, procedures, methods, tools, and parts essential for the repair and maintenance of medical equipment in a hospital. Knowledge of MS Office, accurate data entry, and inventory tracking using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of healthcare compliance rules and regulations. Skills Proficient in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving medical equipment issues efficiently. Excellent documentation skills with the ability to accurately complete assigned service requests. Strong customer service skills within a healthcare organization are required. Proficiency in using test equipment and tools necessary for testing and repairing medical devices. Abilities Ability to manage the documentation of assigned workorders accurately and completely; after the tasks are completed. Ability to search and locate medical equipment that were marked as unable to locate in CMMS. Ability to manage stress and maintain professionalism in high-pressure environments.AVMC Values:
