Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our dynamic healthcare support team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and calibrating a wide range of biomedical equipment used in clinical settings. Your expertise will ensure that medical devices operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for advancing healthcare technology. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and routine inspections on biomedical equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards. Troubleshoot complex electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components using test equipment, schematics, and diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs on medical devices, including replacement of faulty parts, adjustments, and re-assembly to ensure optimal performance. Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and ensure compliance with ISO standards and biomedical regulations. Collaborate with clinical staff to understand equipment needs and provide timely technical support during field service visits or on-site repairs. Stay current with industry advancements by participating in training related to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) updates, biomedical engineering practices, and regulatory requirements for DME (Durable Medical Equipment). Skills Proficiency in using CMMS software for work order management and documentation. Strong electrical diagnostics skills combined with the ability to interpret electrical schematics accurately. Mechanical knowledge necessary for disassembling, repairing, and maintaining biomedical devices. Hands-on experience with field service operations across diverse healthcare environments. Skilled in the use of hand tools, test equipment operation for biomedical devices, and calibration instruments. Ability to troubleshoot advanced electronics within medical electronics systems efficiently. Familiarity with ISO standards related to medical device safety and quality management systems. Knowledge of biomedical regulatory compliance requirements governing healthcare equipment maintenance. Capable of reading mechanical drawings and schematics to facilitate precise repairs. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clinical staff and vendors. Understanding of computer hardware components relevant to medical device interfaces. Mechanical skills for handling electro-mechanical components within complex medical devices.
