out of 5 stars Job Title Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET)•Level II Location Northern Light Health Ellsworth, ME Description Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET)•Level II is responsible for performing advanced maintenance, calibration, and repair on a wide array of biomedical equipment. This position requires extensive technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor and train junior staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct advanced maintenance, calibration, and repairs on complex biomedical equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions using advanced technical knowledge. Ensure all biomedical equipment meets industry standards and safety regulations. Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance, calibration, and repair actions. Provide mentorship, training, and support to junior technicians and clinical staff. Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors for technical support, equipment updates, and recalls. Participate in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of new biomedical equipment. Manage projects related to biomedical equipment installation and upgrades. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Schedule Monday-Friday, 0630-1500 or 0700-1530ET Important:
On-Call Availability may be required for this position Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or DoD BMET School Graduate, or ActiveAAMI ACI
credentials. 3 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair. Expert knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and computer systems. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, customer service, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and lead a team. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills. Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and equipment management systems. Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) strongly preferred. Contract Length 3-year contract with options for 2 additional years.
