Job Summary With minimal supervision, repair, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment and support systems of varying complexity at Michigan Medicine. This is a float position at the University Hospital, Cardiovascular Center, Children's and Women's Hospital, and other off-campus clinic locations within Michigan Medicine, with a focus on operating room coverage. Equipment responsibilities include, but are not limited to, operating room equipment, anesthesia equipment, patient monitoring equipment, patient equipment, and other equipment as assigned. Responsibilities
• Work performed is documented in the AIMS work order database system. Additional duties include identifying and preparing the necessary parts and materials for repairs and preventive maintenance on assigned devices. Cross-training of other Biomedical Engineering Technicians is also required to provide expanded support. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The primary job site is on the main campus, specifically in the operating rooms, ambulatory clinics, and surgery centers. The technician must have a valid Michigan driver's license and be able to drive a motor vehicle. Required Qualifications
• An associate degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent Military training is required. Knowledge and experience with advanced analog and digital electronics. More than five years of experience repairing and maintaining medical equipment, preferably in a hospital environment. Why Join Michigan Medicine?
