A Brief Overview This role leads the Trauma Registry Analyst team and oversees the accurate collection, abstraction, coding, analysis, and reporting of clinical data for all trauma records that meet inclusion criteria. The supervisor ensures records are coded accurately using ICD-10 and AIS standards and that required data are organized, validated, and submitted to authorized end users and third-party registries. This role supports the Level I Trauma Center's designations in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas; American College of Surgeons verification; and participation in the National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) and Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) by ensuring timely submissions during each call-for-data period. What you will do Participates, in conjunction with the Trauma Registry Analyst, in directing and performing all functions related to maintaining the trauma registry database, including the identification of trauma patients, collection of data from multiple electronic sources and medical records, and accurate data entry. Reviews medical records and charts as part of Inter Rater Reliability (IRR) audits to accurately abstract and record registry data, ensuring compliance with established registry standards and guidelines. Maintains accuracy of the trauma database through validation, hardware and software maintenance and upgrades, data dictionary changes and regular backups. Protects and maintains confidentiality of patient data maintained within the registry. Release registry information only to authorized persons, in accordance with departmental policies, HIPAA/ compliance policies and procedures. Ensures trauma registry analysts meet all data collection and submission requirements in accordance with State and National Trauma Databank standards and reporting guidelines. Directs daily workflow processes while continually assessing workflow procedures for maximum efficiency. Leads the strategic planning and implementation of new or revised information technology, including import functions, interfacing tools, application systems, and automation for the trauma database. Supervises the day to day activities of assigned Trauma Registry staff to include participation in performance reviews in collaboration with the Trauma Program Manager. Confers and work collaboratively with medical/hospital staff, HIM department, EMS services, referring facilities and other external data sources in compliance with iRESPECT standards and promoting patient/customer satisfaction to implement registry activities. Coordinates all trauma registry database related responsibilities during a trauma center designation/verification visit. Includes participation in PRQ preparation, chart selection, and chart preparation. Functions as a regional, state and national resource in the management of a trauma database and also participates in collaborative State projects. Maintains personally required CEUs for certifications annually as required by ACS and or states. Maintains records of required CEUs of the Trauma Registry staff as required by ACS and or states. Supervises adherence to hospital policies and procedures and standards through observation, medical record review, staff feedbacks and other appropriate sources. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Health Information Management; Computer Science (with healthcare experience), Nursing, or related field Required and Completed an approved 8 hour Trauma Registry course Required and Current in most recent version of AAAM's AIS course Required and Current ICD-10 course or refresher within 5 years Required CSTR

• Certified Specialist Trauma Registry ATS within 1 Year Required and CAISS
• Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (AAAM) within 18 Months within 1-1/2 Yrs Required and RHIT
