Outpatient Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS / RCS)
Location:
Winfield, IL (Regional coverage as needed)
Assignment Duration:
13 Weeks (High potential for extension)
Shift:
8-Hour or 10-Hour Shifts (Outpatient, No On-Call / No Nights)
Pay Rates:
Local Rate:
Up to $77.00 / hour
Travel Stipend Package:
Up to $3,300 weekly gross ($1,575 non-taxed stipend) Position Overview An established outpatient cardiology practice in Winfield, IL is seeking a highly skilled and reliable Adult Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS or RCS certified) for a 13-week contract with strong potential for extension. This position is strictly outpatient-focused, caring for adult patients (18+) within a modern clinical imaging environment. There is no inpatient work and no TEE involvement. Key Responsibilities Perform full outpatient transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), 2D Echo/Doppler/Color Flow, strain imaging, and contrast/bubble studies. Maintain a predictable daily schedule in an outpatient clinic setting: 8-
Hour Shift:
Approximately 9 patients/day 10-
Hour Shift:
Approximately 12 patients/day (Schedules include a 30-minute lunch and two built-in 15-minute catch-up blocks to support workflow) Review, process, and document imaging data in Epic and Merge Cardio platforms. Recognize and promptly report critical or significant abnormal imaging findings to attending cardiologists. Ensure testing areas and equipment meet clinical standards for sanitation, safety, and supply levels. Maintain flexibility to occasionally float to regional clinic locations based on operational needs.
Required Qualifications Active Certification:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer ( RDCS via ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer ( RCS via CCI). 2+ years of adult echocardiography experience (hospital-based experience strongly preferred). Proven technical competency in standard adult transthoracic echocardiograms. Strong verbal communication, adaptability, and patient care skills. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience performing strain imaging and contrast/bubble studies. Familiarity with structural heart patient populations. Hands-on experience with Epic EMR and Merge Cardio PACS. Position Highlights 13-
